This is sort of narration for the [2022 In Review YouTube video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59zlcRlB_cM). ![](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59zlcRlB_cM) We began the year in Louisiana visiting family and friends after a trip to Florida in late 2021. Our good friend Jess was the Ball Captain for her [krewe](http://www.kreweofiduna.com/2022) in Baton Rouge so we did Mardi Gras there. Courtney was able to join her on the float. I took Ryder up to [Loveland Valley](https://skiloveland.com/the-mountain/basin-vs-valley/) as he was trying to get better at boarding. He's been to a few classes and was really ready for me to just work with him. Loveland Valley is very reasonably priced and easy to get to. It's a good place to learn. Courtney's uncle Steve from Louisiana made a trip to Colorado with some of his kids. Her aunt Jerri came over as well. We had lots of fun. Our big Spring trip was to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon. [Zion](https://www.nps.gov/zion/index.htm) is a single canyon. We were there off-season and it was still very busy. It has great views. We also went to [Bryce Canyon](https://www.nps.gov/brca/index.htm), it has the _hoodoos_; odd structures. It's a couple hours from Zion, fun drive. To do the [Grand Canyon](https://www.nps.gov/grca/index.htm) we took a train from Williams Arizona. Bodhi broke his leg when we started back up with jiu-jitsu. It was a big set-back but he dealt with it well. We did a few concerts this year. Our Covid experience had it's share of drinking on the patio, listening to music. As the world opened back up we wanted to see the musicians we listened to during Covid. On our way down to Pensacola we stopped off in Dallas to do [Midieval Times](https://www.medievaltimes.com/). It was corny but fun. There also happened to be a [Cody Jinks](https://codyjinks.com/) show at that time so we saw him with Whitey Morgan and Lucas Nelson. Great shows. In Pensacola the schedules lined up and we went to see the [Pensacola Blue Wahoos](https://www.milb.com/pensacola) Minor League Baseball team. Great park, as always baseball is about who you're spending the time with. In Pensacola we went to the [Portofino Resort](https://www.portofinoisland.com/). They have some nice amenities and activities that fit the ages of the boys well. We've gone to Pensacola every year for almost 10 years with about 1 exception. To wrap up our Pensacola trip we swung by to see [Aaron Lewis](https://www.aaronlewismusic.com/) in Alabama. He put on a great show. Our friends Jess and David brought their family to Colorado. We took them for a hike to the [Crater Lakes](https://www.protrails.com/trail/279/indian-peaks-wilderness-area-crater-lakes) with the trailhead near Moffat Tunnel. We saw [Randy Rogers](https://www.randyrogersband.com/) in Nebraska with Wade Bowen. We really like their music. Courtney found that they were playing at a small county fair so we drove 4 hours, stayed at a hotel and went to the show. It was the cheapest show we went to and it was the best show of the year. [Palisade, CO](https://www.visitpalisade.com/) has about 30 vineyards. We made a trip out and had lots of fun. It's just beautiful country, low key. We saw Alabama and [Jamey Johnson](https://www.jameyjohnson.com/) at the Ball Arena. Jamey Johnson got up and said he was such a big fan of Alabama that he was just going to do their covers (except for [1 song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYGwxf1gCC4)) for his set. Alabama was good as well. We saw [Tyler Childers](https://tylerchildersmusic.com/) at Red Rocks. This was the costliest show. He didn't do a lot of the songs that drew us to him, bit of a disappointment. [Cody Jinks](https://codyjinks.com/) came to Red Rocks. It was a great show again. He's a good performer and you know what you're going to get. At the end of the year, back to Florida for Universal and Disney. As the boys are getting older Universal is more appropriate to what they want to do. On the way back we stopped off in Louisiana. Courtney and I were able to run off to New Orleans for a couple days where we did the thing.
