2024 In Review

We kicked off 2024 in New Orleans. We went to the WWII museum again. A stop at Cafe Du Monde confirmed that the coffee is still horrible and the beignets are not a source of nutrition, but it’s what you do. Some hotels in New Orleans do a great job decorating for Christmas. We had some flaming cafe brulot, the presentation is better than the taste

In the Summer we got out to New York for the wedding of Ashley and Dan. A trip to New York is a good reason to put dietary restrictions aside and have a legit piece of pizza. During the wedding ceremony Bodhi took the chance to say a few words, he almost got the hook. From New York we went directly to Pensacola, our favorite destination for lazy beach time.

I took the boys camping in the Indian Peaks wilderness starting at the 4th of July Trailhead and ending up below Lake Dorothy. There was a lot of persistent snow from Winter, it was hard to find a place to setup camp. Navigating that area was some of the most challenging hiking and camping I’ve done ever. The boys are tough, I put them in rough situations and they did great.

We double up at the Grizzly Rose; Tracy Byrd and Sawyer Brown in the same month.

Finally the Christmas break took us back to Orlando for the parks and a cruise.
